Meet Andy – Founder of Mountain Equipment Lab / mel designs llc

With nearly 20 years in snowsports product design, I’ve done just about everything—building prototype skis, lab testing and on-snow testing, CNC programming, CAD designs with composite layups, and launching skis and snowboards for some of the biggest brands in the industry.

At mel, I believe product shape and performance should reflect the brand, not the engineer. My job isn’t to design my “perfect” ski or board —it’s to design the right one for you. By studying past models, understanding your brand’s DNA, and aligning with your product line, we can create gear that feels like a seamless extension of your identity.
